We know that we do good work at fair prices for our dental care and therefore have no problem being transparent about the treatment prices of our cheap dentists and dental hygienists. We are of course connected to the Social Insurance Agency, which means that you can use the general dental care allowance (ATB) and have access to high-cost protection in exactly the same way as with other cheap dentists.
We always work with the patient in focus and always assume that each patient is unique. Together, we will arrive at the best solution for you, both from a treatment and financial point of view. Factors that affect the treatment cost for our dentists and dental hygienists are your age and which examinations and treatments are needed. With us, you will find out the cost of the treatment even before it begins.
Dental support financed by government
You are entitled to free dental care up to and including the year you turn 23. On the other hand, you will receive financial help in the form of the state dental care support, which consists of three parts:
- General dental care allowance
- Special dental care allowance
- High-cost protection
The first part is general dental care allowance (ATB) where the size of the grant is dependent on your age. The general dental care allowance belongs to the patient but is paid to the cheap dentist or dental hygienist. The entire grant must be used at one time and it is up to the patient to decide if and when it should be used to pay part of the cost of the treatment.
On 1 July each year, you receive a new dental care grant and it is possible to save the grant from one year and use it together with the new grant the following year, at the same time or on different occasions. It is not possible to save more than two contributions, after which one of the previous contributions disappears and is replaced by a new one.
- From the year you turn 23 until the year you turn 29, the contribution is SEK 600/year.
- From the year you turn 30 and up to and including the year you turn 64, the contribution is SEK 300/year.
- From the year you turn 65, the contribution is SEK 600/year.
There is also one special dental care support (STB) which is SEK 600 per six months. This is for people with diseases or disabilities that affect the teeth and oral cavity negatively and usually requires a doctor's certificate. The third part of the state dental care support is called high-cost protection and means that the patient receives financial help when paying for major treatments. In this way, the patient does not have to bear the entire cost himself. Försäkringskassan pays the compensation for the remaining part of the treatment cost directly to the cheap dentist or dental hygienist. This protection starts to apply when the total cost of a visit to the dentist (calculated on the reference price) exceeds SEK 3,000 during a 12-month period. You will then receive a deduction where the size of the deduction depends on how high the total cost will be.
- For dental care costs with a reference price of up to SEK 3,000, you will not receive compensation but pay the full dental care price yourself.
- For dental care costs with a reference price between SEK 3,000-15,000, you receive 50 percent compensation.
- For dental care costs with a reference price above SEK 15,000, you receive 85 percent compensation.
Aesthetic dental care, such as teeth whitening, is not included in the state dental care support and is not reimbursed.
How much does it cost to repair a broken tooth?
One of the most common dental conditions we come across is broken teeth. Depending on how serious the damage is, one or more treatments may need to be carried out. For example, if the tooth is so broken that it cannot be repaired, it may need to be extracted. So the answer to the question how much does it cost to repair a tooth is unfortunately not clear-cut but depends entirely on the extent of the damage.
